Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, addressed the Japanese Parliamentarian Support Group for Tibet in Tokyo. Chairman Shimomura Hakubun welcomed him and discussed ongoing support for Tibet, including organizing the 9th World Parliamentary Convention on Tibet in 2025. Khenpo Tenphel thanked Japan for condemning Chinese human rights violations and updated members on Tibet’s situation, highlighting the closure of Jigme Gyaltsen school.
