On April 15, the Dutch House of Representatives adopted a resolution with three motions addressing China’s repression in Tibet. It calls for an EU Special Representative and a joint EU-Tibet strategy, and opposes Chinese interference in the Dalai Lama’s succession. This followed Sikyong Penpa Tsering’s 2024 visit and a December advocacy mission by Tibetan MPs Yeshi Dolma and Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten. Their meetings with Dutch officials and rights groups, alongside efforts by allied communities, helped garner strong parliamentary support. Representative Rigzin Genkhang welcomed the move as vital support for Tibetans’ peaceful freedom struggle.
