Tibetan leader invites Himachal CM to Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday

Penpa Tsering, Sikyong(President) of the Central Tibetan Administration, has formally invited Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to join the global celebrations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, scheduled to begin on July 6, 2025. During a visit to Shimla, Tsering discussed community concerns and emphasized the importance of unity among Tibetan exiles. Speaking to ANI, he stressed the significance of celebrating this milestone as a “year of Karuna (compassion) and Ahimsa (non-violence),” values upheld by the Dalai Lama and rooted in Indian tradition.
