Dalai Lama offers condolences on Pope Francis’s passing

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pope Francis in a letter to the Apostolic Nuncio to India, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli. His Holiness praised the late pope’s lifelong service to others and his example of simple, meaningful living. “The best tribute we can pay to him is to be a warm-hearted person,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote. A memorial service is being held by the Tibetan community at the Tsuglagkhang Temple in Dharamsala to honour the late pontiff.
