Prominent Uyghur activist Abdurehim Gheni was violently assaulted by Chinese security personnel inside The Hague City Hall during a Chinese New Year event. Attackers forced Gheni to the ground, placed him in a chokehold, and severely twisted his leg. He reports that officials whispered death threats in Chinese, explicitly stating he deserved to die in a concentration camp. Gheni has formally reported the incident to the Dutch National Police and is demanding authorities review internal surveillance footage. He strongly condemns the attack as a direct, terrifying example of the Chinese government's transnational repression extending onto European soil.
