Two Tibetan films featured at Tokyo International Festival

Two Tibetan women directors, Kunsang Kyirong from Canada and Kang Deulung from Chinese-occupied Tibet, showcased their films at the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival 2025. Kyirong’s debut film “100-Sunset” portrays the daily lives of Tibetans in Toronto, while Deulung’s “Linka Linka (One Night and Three Summer Days)” explores memory and reconciliation in Lhasa. Both screenings sold out, drawing strong interest from Tibetans and supporters in Japan. During her visit to Tibet House Japan, Kyirong was congratulated by Representative Dr. Tsewang Gyalpo Arya, who praised her contribution to sharing Tibetan stories globally.
