Taiwan Councillors Form Tibet Support Network

Forty councillors from 15 local councils across Taiwan launched the Taiwan City Councillors Network for Tibet on Tibetan Democracy Day, pledging solidarity with the Tibetan people. The declaration affirmed support for democracy, freedom, and human rights, citing His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s July statements on succession and health as reassurance for Tibetans. The initiative, coordinated by Tashi Tsering of the Human Rights Network for Tibet and Taiwan, has already drawn wide interest. Central Tibetan Administration President Penpa Tsering congratulated the group, urging them to amplify Tibet’s voice internationally and strengthen shared democratic values.
