Richard Gere Honored with Human Rights First Visionary Award

International Campaign for Tibet Chairman Richard Gere received the inaugural Visionary Award from Human Rights First at a ceremony in New York City on October 14, 2025. Gere was recognized for his lifelong advocacy for human rights and his decades-long commitment to Tibet, the Dalai Lama, and democratic freedoms. HRF President Uzra Zeya praised Gere’s role in shaping international policy through truth and compassion. In his remarks, Gere urged continued global attention to Tibet’s human rights crisis and called on the world to preserve the spirit, culture, and wisdom of the Tibetan people.
