The Tibetan community in Kalimpong celebrated the U.S. Congress ratifying and President Biden signing the "Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act." During an event at Mani Lhakhang, the community expressed gratitude to the U.S. Tibetan Settlement Officer Chiten urged other countries to pass similar legislation. He highlighted that the Act acknowledges Tibet's historical independence and calls for international law to resolve the dispute. Regional Tibetan Humane Association President Chung Dak emphasized the need for India's support to end China's oppression. The event featured colorful programs and a large turnout.
