ICT report urges governments to prioritize Tibet’s global importance

The International Campaign for Tibet’s new report, “Why Tibet? Strategic Imperatives for International Peace and Security,” outlines Tibet’s central role in regional geopolitics, security, and the environment, linking China’s exploitation of the plateau with ongoing human rights abuses. ICT President Tencho Gyatso said Tibet is the “geopolitical pivot of Asia,” warning that Beijing’s repression and militarization threaten global stability. The report calls on governments to support Tibetan self-determination, promote Tibet as a zone of peace, and strengthen legislation addressing China’s actions. It also urges increased international backing for the Central Tibetan Administration.
