French Senate Marks Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday with Tribute

The French Parliamentary Friends of Tibet and Bureau du Tibet Paris hosted a celebration at the French Senate on 16 September to honour His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and the global “Year of Compassion.” Senators, diplomats, Tibetan representatives, and support groups attended the event, which featured opening remarks from Senator Jacqueline Eustache-Brinio, prayers by Gyuto monks, a short film, and Tibetan cultural performances. Representative Rigzin Genkhang highlighted His Holiness’s message of peace and resilience. The evening concluded with a Tibetan-French feast, reflecting shared gratitude and admiration for the Dalai Lama’s enduring global influence.
