Free Tibet organization in London has launched a campaign opposing China’s plan to build a “mega-embassy” at London’s historic Royal Mint Court. The group warns the site could be used to surveil and intimidate critics of the Chinese Communist Party, including Tibetans in Britain. Protests under the banner “No Mega-Embassy” have drawn Tibetans, Uyghurs, Hong Kongers, Mongolians, Taiwanese, Chinese dissidents, and local residents. Campaigners say the project poses a “multi-dimensional threat” and urged a major pushback to stop Beijing from establishing what they call a dangerous foothold in the UK.
