Authorities in Chinese-occupied Tibet have dismissed four officials following the Arc’teryx fireworks display that sparked widespread outrage over environmental damage, BBC reported. The “Rising Dragon” show, designed by artist Cai Guo-Qiang, lit up the skies above Shigatse in September, affecting about 30 hectares of grassland. Officials said the event left debris and briefly disturbed wildlife. Those removed include Gyantse County’s Communist Party secretary, public security chief, and two environmental officers. Authorities ordered Arc’teryx and Cai to help restore the site. Both later apologised, admitting the show conflicted with the brand’s environmental values.
