China Steps Up Efforts to Control Dalai Lama Reincarnation, Report Reveals

A report from the International Tibet Network (ITN) reveals China's intensified efforts to control the Dalai Lama's reincarnation. The 30-page document, titled Tibet, the Dalai Lama, and the Geopolitics of Reincarnation, highlights China's plans to use the Dalai Lama's passing to undermine international support for Tibet. Beijing's strategy includes controlling Tibetan Buddhism through surveillance, re-education, and installing their own Dalai Lama candidate. Despite China's efforts, Tibetan loyalty to the Dalai Lama remains strong, with the 14th Dalai Lama asserting his sole authority over his succession, ITN reports.
