Brussels Office of Tibet Marks Panchen Lama’s 36th Birthday

The Office of Tibet Brussels launched impactful awareness campaigns to mark the 36th birthday and 30th enforced disappearance anniversary of the 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima. Targeting the European Parliament, the campaigns included symbolic MEP photo actions and heartfelt letters and drawings from Tibetan children. These efforts, part of the Central Tibetan Administration’s global initiative, culminated in a strong European Parliament resolution on May 8 condemning China’s religious repression in Tibet and demanding the release of all Tibetan political and religious prisoners, including the Panchen Lama. A protest was also held in Brussels on May 17.
