Chemi Lhamo elected spokesperson of World Liberty Congress

Tibetan activist Chemi Lhamo has been elected spokesperson of the World Liberty Congress (WLC) during its second General Assembly held in Berlin from November 9–11, 2025. The gathering brought together more than 180 delegates from over 60 countries. In her acceptance speech, Lhamo pledged to be “a microphone” for those resisting authoritarian regimes worldwide. The WLC, a global alliance of democracy movements, includes representatives from Tibet, Hong Kong, Iran, and other regions under autocratic rule. Her election marks a significant step in amplifying Tibetan voices within the international pro-democracy movement.
