A bipartisan coalition of ten US House lawmakers, led by Representatives Jim McGovern and Young Kim, is urging the Trump administration to make Tibet a key foreign policy priority. In a letter to newly appointed Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues Riley M. Barnes, the group outlined eight strategic areas for collaboration. Key demands include pushing for dialogue between Beijing and Tibetan leaders, defending the Dalai Lama’s succession rights from Chinese interference, and countering systemic disinformation. The lawmakers emphasized that strong congressional and executive cooperation is vital to resolving the Tibet-China dispute and supporting Tibetan allies.
