Tibetans in Japan marked Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day on December 8 with a peace march in Tokyo, alongside other global communities. Organized by the Peace March for Human Rights Committee, the event highlighted human rights abuses under authoritarian regimes, including China’s repression in Tibet. Tashi Yangzom, representing the Dalai Lama’s office, urged Japan and the international community to pressure China to respect human rights. Representatives from Uyghur, Southern Mongolia, Myanmar, and other regions shared their struggles. Around 200 participants marched through Asakusa, promoting unity and democracy against global dictatorships.
