Nepal's Prime Minister K.P.S. Oli reaffirmed allegiance to China’s territorial integrity, pledging non-support for Tibetan separatist activities during a meeting with President Xi Jinping on Dec. 3. While both sides signed nine agreements and a Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Cooperation Framework, disagreements over funding models stalled progress on 35 BRI projects. Nepal seeks grants, while China prefers loans with higher interest. The joint statement emphasized connectivity projects to reduce Nepal’s reliance on India. Talks also included Nepal’s adherence to the "One-China" policy and invitations for Chinese leaders to visit, reports Xinhua and Kathmandu Post.
