Voice of America (VOA) has ended operations in Dharamshala, with Radio Free Asia (RFA) set to close by late April, reports Phayul. CTA President Tsering revealed during the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s 9th session that U.S. funding cuts have led to furloughs and halted broadcasts. The decision follows a March 14 executive order by former U.S. President Trump targeting seven federally funded agencies, including VOA and RFA. The Association of Tibetan Journalists condemned the cuts, calling on the U.S. to restore support for Tibetan-language media vital to news access and cultural preservation inside Tibet.
