Viral “Beijing Hit List” Targeting Tibetans Likely Fake

A document circulating online as a secret “Beijing hit list” targeting prominent Tibetans abroad is likely fake, according to a Phayul report. The document claims Chinese authorities ordered surveillance of CTA President Penpa Tsering, a senior aide to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kirti Rinpoche, CTA Health Minister Pema Tso, and sociologist Dr. Gyal Lo. However, it has no issuing agency, reference number, date, official seal, approving authority, signature, or implementation instructions. No verifiable original has surfaced. The report also found inconsistencies between the Chinese text and English translation, along with an incorrect Chinese rendering of Penpa Tsering’s name.
