Victorian Parliament Celebrates Dalai Lama's 90th Birthday

On Aug. 13, 2025, the Victorian Parliamentary Friends of Tibet, the Tibetan Community in Victoria, and V-TAG Australia hosted a celebration at the Victorian Parliament House to mark His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and the year of compassion. Chief guest Hon. Maree Edwards and special guest Hon. Shaun Leane praised the Dalai Lama’s global influence for peace. Tibetan representatives Karma Singey and MP Tenzin Phuntsok Doring urged support for Tibet’s culture and rights under Chinese rule. Guests received the Dalai Lama’s book Voice for the Voiceless and enjoyed traditional food and performances.
