V-TAG Hosts Tibetan Film Night in Newcastle to Raise Awareness for Tibet

The Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group (V-TAG) hosted a "Tibetan Film Night" fundraiser in Newcastle, Australia, on November 6, 2024, featuring a screening of Tibet: Murder in the Snow, a documentary about Tibetan refugees’ treacherous escape via the Nangpala Pass. Former Tibetan political prisoners Lobsang Lungtok and Rigzin Wangmo shared personal stories of fleeing Chinese occupation, lending emotional weight to the event. Around 30-40 attendees raised funds for V-TAG’s advocacy efforts, with plans for future collaborations to strengthen community engagement. V-TAG aims to continue raising awareness on Tibet’s human rights situation in the region.
