The Tibetan Youth Congress on June 21, 2026, opposed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to New Delhi for the BRICS national security meeting scheduled for June 22–23. TYC accused Beijing of using international diplomacy to conceal repression and assimilation policies in Tibet. The group also criticized China’s Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, which takes effect July 1, saying it would further institutionalize assimilation. TYC linked the India-China border dispute to China’s occupation of Tibet and argued that no lasting settlement is possible without resolving the Tibet issue. It urged India and other governments to support Tibetan self-determination.
