Tibetans Protest in Geneva as UNHRC Session Highlights Rights Violations

The Tibetan Community of Switzerland and Liechtenstein protested outside the UN in Geneva as the 58th UNHRC session opened. The demonstration condemned China’s human rights violations in Tibet. Phuntsok Topgyal of the Tibet Bureau Geneva stressed the worsening repression in Tibet, including cultural erasure and forced assimilation. He called on the EU to stand against these injustices. The protest included Chinese Christians and other supporters, drawing attention to broader religious persecution in China. The session, running until April 4, will address issues like religious freedom and the protection of human rights defenders.
