Tibetans protested outside the Chinese embassy in Delhi on Tuesday, opposing China's human rights abuses in Tibet, which was annexed in 1951. Police blocked and detained some demonstrators, who were part of a protest organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress. Protesters accused China of repressing Tibetan culture and called for international support. The protest coincided with China's 75th anniversary of Communist rule. Sonam Tenzin, one of the protesters, urged China to stop the "cultural genocide" in Tibet. The Tibetan government-in-exile has long condemned China for denying basic rights.
