Marking the 36th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre and six years since the Hong Kong democratic uprising, the Tibet Information Office joined global commemorations in solidarity with Chinese democrats. At a 1 June event in Sydney hosted by NZAVCCR, Chinese Liaison Officer Dawa Sangmo paid tribute on behalf of the Tibetan people. She recalled how His Holiness the Dalai Lama was among the first leaders to support the 1989 student movement despite diplomatic risks. Sangmo reaffirmed the Tibetan commitment to truth and justice.
