On August 2, 2024, Tibetan NGOs in Southern India met at the Chief Representative Office to address Tibetan farmers' challenges. Presided over by CRO Jigmey Tsultrim, the meeting discussed a video appeal from farmers asking state governments to grant Tibetans the same rights as local residents. Attendees also passed a resolution affirming that only His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Gaden Phodrang institution can select his holiness' reincarnation. The session ended with a tribute to the U.S. government for passing the Resolve Tibet Act.
