Tibetan Minister Dolma Gyari Honoured with 2025 'Spirit of Freedom Award'

Dolma Gyari, Security Minister in the 16th Kashag, has been awarded the 2025 "Spirit of Freedom Award" by the Independent Federation of Chinese Students and Scholars (IFCSS), reported the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). Recognised for her decades-long leadership and commitment to Tibetan democracy in exile, the award also honours over 100,000 Tibetans abroad and millions suffering repression inside Tibet. IFCSS praised Gyari as a symbol of women's empowerment and endorsed the Dalai Lama’s Middle Way Approach. The group hopes the award fosters Han-Tibetan friendship and a democratic future beyond the Chinese Communist Party's rule.
