Tibetan Language Day Marked with Cultural Festivities in Zurich

Over 460 Tibetans from Switzerland and Liechtenstein celebrated the 10th Tibetan Language Day in Zurich on 14 June, featuring poetry, calligraphy, debates, and contests. Swiss Representative Thinlay Chukki of the Tibet Bureau in Geneva, attending as chief guest, called on parents and teachers to ensure the language’s survival through education. Emphasizing the youth’s vital role, she urged them to uphold the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event was also attended by Tibetan parliamentarian Thupten Gyatso, Khen Rinpoche of Rikon, and leaders of the Swiss Tibetan community.
