Tibetan Exile Lawmakers Condemn China's "Colonial" Boarding Schools

Tibetan lawmakers and ministers in exile have condemned China's establishment of "colonial" boarding schools in Tibet. Dorjee Tseten, a Tibetan MP, expressed concern over reports of monasteries and traditional schools being shut down, with children forced into these schools, which he says aim to assimilate Tibetan identity into Chinese society. According to ANI, other officials like Thubten Wangchen and Dolma Gyari criticized these policies as efforts to erase Tibetan language and culture, calling it a form of "cultural genocide" and urging international action to stop it.
