Tibetan Associations’ Conference Begins in Washington DC

The 22nd North American Tibetan Associations Conference commenced in Washington DC on December 8, 2024, with Sikyong Penpa Tsering delivering the keynote. According to Tibet.net, over 50 representatives from 26 associations attended. Sikyong thanked the National Endowment for Democracy for hosting and underscored the importance of unity, accurate data, and preserving Tibetan traditions, especially as His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday approaches. He also warned of China’s strategies regarding the Dalai Lama's succession and urged Tibetan groups to stay vigilant and coordinated in their advocacy efforts.
