Tibetan Parliament Begins Delhi Campaign Against China’s Ethnic Unity Law

A Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile delegation began its advocacy campaign in New Delhi on July 27 as India’s Parliament holds its Monsoon Session. Led by Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, the delegation split into two groups and met Indian MPs and ministers to raise concerns over China’s Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, which took effect on July 1. The MPs included Faggan Singh Kulaste, Saugata Roy, Virendra Singh, Balabhadra Majhi, S. P. Singh Baghel, Rajkumar Sangwan, Sujeet Kumar, and Ramdas Athawale. The delegation appealed for parliamentary attention, support for Tibetan rights, and action against transnational repression.
