Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel will lead a Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile delegation to New Delhi from July 25 to August 1, 2026, for a parliamentary advocacy campaign. The delegation includes Standing Committee members Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen, Lobsang Thupten Pontsang, Choedak Gyatso, Gonpo Dhundup, and Gyaltsen Choekye Gagya. During the visit, the MPs will meet Indian political leaders, parliamentarians, policymakers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns over the situation in Tibet, especially China’s Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, which came into force on July 1. Official engagements are scheduled from July 27 to 31.
