Tibetan activists staged protests in New Delhi on Monday against Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s two-day visit to India. Members of the Tibetan Youth Congress gathered outside the Chinese Embassy, chanting slogans against Beijing’s rule in Tibet before police detained several demonstrators. Students for a Free Tibet India also staged a banner action at Dhaula Kuan, unfurling a message reading “Wang Yi: Free Tibet” as his motorcade passed. Activists said the demonstrations were meant to expose China’s repression in Tibet and urged India to address Tibet’s unresolved status in its engagement with Beijing.
