Tibet Day 2025 Celebrated in Portland with Culture and Compassion

The Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association hosted Tibet Day 2025 on 13 September at Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square, drawing more than 1,000 attendees. Inspired by the global “Year of Compassion” marking His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, the day-long event showcased Tibetan food, cultural stalls, and performances, along with a Gorshey dance open to all. Forty banners highlighted the Dalai Lama’s life and global impact. Organisers noted that about 75 percent of participants were non-Tibetans, reflecting growing solidarity. The event received coverage from Oregonian and KGW News, further raising awareness of Tibet’s culture and cause.
