The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy has condemned China's ongoing persecution of Tibetan human rights defender Tsering Tso. Recently, she was detained for 10 days by police in Yushu Prefecture for opposing discriminatory treatment against Tibetan monks in Drachen County. Tso, a tour guide and activist, criticized the authorities for requiring permits from Tibetan monks while Chinese tourists travel freely. This arrest marks the fourth time in five years that Tso has been detained for advocating for Tibetan rights. Her detentions highlight systemic issues in China's treatment of human rights defenders.
