Southern Tibetan Schools Gather for Annual Dialectic Meet Promoting Critical Thinking

The Department of Education and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery organized the "Southern Tibetan Schools Dialectic Meet," which began on August 28, 2024. Ninety-five students from seven Tibetan schools in southern settlements are participating in the eight-day event. The meet, attended by education officials and school principals, aims to promote critical thinking through dialectical disputation, a practice emphasized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event has been held annually since 2012, reflecting growing interest and recognition of the importance of integrating logic and Buddhist philosophy into the curriculum.
