Penpa Tsering, President(Sikyong) of the Central Tibetan Administration began his official visit to the U.S. with urgent talks on sustaining Tibetan media. On April 28, he met with Radio Free Asia’s leadership, who warned of a looming shutdown due to funding shortfalls. According to CTA, he expressed solidarity with staff and promised to raise the issue in upcoming meetings with U.S. lawmakers. His visit also includes discussions with congressional allies to safeguard Tibetan resilience programs and highlight the strategic importance of Tibet amidst ongoing Chinese repression.
