Sikyong Urges Tibetan Refugees in Nepal to Stay Vigilant Amid Protests

Sikyong Penpa Tsering has urged Tibetan refugees in Nepal to remain cautious during the ongoing student-led Gen Z protests against corruption, nepotism, and unemployment. Addressing to medias before today's Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile session, he said the CTA, through its Home Department and the Tibetan Refugee Welfare Office in Kathmandu, has advised Tibetan Settlement Officers to warn communities to avoid unnecessary outings. He cautioned that the unrest, fueled by strong emotions, could pose risks for refugees. While Kathmandu’s airport has been shut, he confirmed that Tibetan settlements in Nepal have not been affected so far.
