On August 24, 2024, the 25th anniversary of PEN Tibetan Writers Abroad was celebrated at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah. Sikyong Penpa Tsering and Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, attended as special guests. The event honored the literary contributions of Kyabje Kriti Rinpoche, who has authored over 149 books, many of which have been banned in Tibet. Sikyong Penpa Tsering emphasized the importance of reading and preserving Tibetan language and culture, especially amidst growing restrictions in Tibet. The event highlighted the ongoing struggle to protect Tibetan linguistic heritage.
