Ooty Tibetans Celebrate Dalai Lama's 90th and Golden Jubilee

The Nilgiris Tibetan Refugee Welfare Association celebrated His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday alongside their organization's golden jubilee anniversary from July 6-8, 2025, at NCMS Hall in Ooty. The Nilgiris District Collector served as chief guest on July 6. The association launched a "Thank You Udhagamandalam, Thank You Tamil Nadu" campaign expressing gratitude to local communities. Charitable activities included prayers for Ooty and Tamil Nadu residents, releasing thousands of fish from slaughterhouses, providing free lunches to elderly homes and local residents, and distributing clothes to needy people. The celebration featured traditional games and Gorshey circle dancing. The association plans to continue this gratitude initiative year-long.
