Officials in Tibet Face Corruption Investigations Amid Political Scrutiny

Chinese anti-corruption authorities are investigating several senior officials from Dechen (Diqing), Yunnan Province, for "serious violations of discipline and laws." Those targeted include former governors and United Front Work Department (UFWD) leaders, signaling significant corruption or possible political shifts. Since Xi Jinping's rise, anti-graft campaigns have focused on consolidating power, often affecting Tibetan regions under Chinese rule. Dechen, historically part of Kham, holds political and spiritual ties to Tibet but is lesser-known globally. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) has not yet released details about the investigations, reports indicate.
