Madrid University Hosts Seminar on Life and Works of Tibetan Filmmaker Pema Tseden

The Autonomous University of Madrid held a seminar on May 6 to honor Tibetan writer and filmmaker Pema Tseden, focusing on his life and cultural impact. Organized by the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy, the event featured presentations by former AP Beijing correspondent Isolda Morillo and Sangyal Kyab, Chinese Liaison Officer at the Tibet Bureau in Geneva. Morillo highlighted Pema Tseden’s literary and cinematic legacy, while Kyab discussed Tibet’s current repression under Chinese rule and the Middle Way Approach, drawing from shared roots with the late filmmaker.
