Louisville Event Pays Tribute to Dalai Lama in ‘Year of Compassion’

The Drepung Gomang Center in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted a tribute event titled “The Power of Compassion” to honour His Holiness the Dalai Lama, marking the 12th anniversary of his 2013 visit and celebrating the CTA-declared “Year of Compassion.” Speakers included former Mayor Greg Fischer, the Center’s director Anne Walter, and Geshe Thubten Jinpa, who highlighted the Dalai Lama’s core commitments. The event reaffirmed the Center’s mission to promote secular ethics, non-violence, and compassion in line with His Holiness’ teachings, drawing appreciation from Representative Namgyal Choedup.
