An all-party forum of Indian MPs has urged the central government to award the Bharat Ratna to the Dalai Lama and allow him to address a joint sitting of Parliament. The resolution was adopted during the second meeting of the Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet, which includes members from BJP, BJD, and JD(U). Convenor Sujeeth Kumar announced a signature campaign supporting the move, with multiple MPs expressing support through video messages. The group plans to formally request the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Speakers to facilitate the Dalai Lama’s address.
