Former Tibetan Prisoner Namkyi Testifies at Geneva Summit 2025

Former Tibetan political prisoner Namkyi arrived in Geneva on February 9, 2025, to participate in the Geneva Summit 2025. Ahead of the 58th UN Human Rights Council session, a five-day advocacy campaign (Feb 10–14) sought to raise awareness on Tibet’s human rights issues. Namkyi and Tibetan representatives held meetings with UN officials, diplomats, and Special Rapporteurs. While immediate UN support was not secured, the campaign highlighted China’s oppression in Tibet. Several smaller nations pledged indirect support. More meetings with UN officials are scheduled to continue advocacy efforts.
