Former Chinese Teacher Heartbroken by Closure of Tibetan School

A former teacher, Ginger Duan, expressed her sorrow and helplessness over the forced closure of Gang Jong Sherig Norbu Ling School in Amdo on July 12. Duan, who worked there from 2018 to 2019, said she was not surprised due to long-standing rumors. She highlighted the school's struggle against local government pressures and attempts to preserve Tibetan culture. Established in 1994, the school faced ongoing legal challenges, ultimately leading to its shutdown under allegations aimed at erasing Tibetan heritage.
