Tibetan groups in France held their 46th protest in Paris outside the Guimet Museum, urging the institution to restore the name “Tibet” in its Nepal–Tibet exhibition. Students for a Free Tibet France and the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress say the museum’s 2024 shift to the term “Himalayan World” supports China’s effort to erase Tibet’s identity and history. In a public speech, 16-year-old activist Yangchen said removing the name Tibet erases a people and dilutes the meaning of an entire civilisation. Protesters called the change harmful and demanded its immediate reversal.
