Darjeeling Tibetans vow to preserve language and culture

The Manjushree Centre of Tibetan Culture, in collaboration with the Darjeeling Ghoton Committee, marked the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on November 2, 2025, at the Sambhota Tibetan School Hall. The event focused on preserving Tibetan culture, particularly the language, among the local community. During the celebration, Tibetan residents of Darjeeling collectively took an oath to prioritise speaking Tibetan at home and within their settlement, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding their linguistic and cultural heritage for future generations.
